The Human Resources department aims to provide a professional management service for the University by developing human resource policies which are attractive in recruiting and transforming this institution as “the most coveted employer to work with” in Oman. 

The mission of Human Resources Department is to develop, practice and facilitate the processes which create an environment where the entire staff can make a vital contribution to achieve the ASU’s mission.

Goals and Objectives:                                                                                                                           

  1. Development of policies and procedures in line with the requirement of the University.
  2. Staff Appraisal ,development and increasing staff  retention
  3. Professionalize recruitment and Joining procedures
  4. Framing guideline for professional development and incentives.
  5. Fostering development of  overall relationship through interaction

The HR Department is divided in to four work units, each of which initially reports to the Deputy HR Director and then to the Director. A brief list of each Units responsibility can be seen below:

Head Recruitment: Responsible for advertising for vacancies, interviewing of prospective candidates for the post.

Head Payroll Management: Responsible for processing payroll, staff compensation and benefits.

Head Personal Affairs: Responsible for attending to staff grievances, disputes and promotion of better relationship amongst the staff.

Head Training and Development: Responsible for staff training, development and ensuring knowledge dispersion.

Once you have applied for a position your application will be assessed through a screening process. If you are successful through the screening stage, your application will be assigned to the talent pool of applicants awaiting interview. Your application will be kept in our talent pool for few months and you may be contacted during that period for an interview or about other vacant positions.
If you are selected for interview you will be assessed by an interview panel, either through online or face-to-face.
If selected for a vacant position, your application will be submitted to Senior Management for final approval. Please note that only a signed Employment Offer Letter constitutes an offer of employment from the ASU. Medical clearances are required for all positions. An offer of employment is conditional on the successful completion of all Visa formalities and satisfactory employment references.
